A mystery Burnside shopper is now a millionaire after winning Tattslotto on Saturday night.
The winner purchased the ticket at Burnside Lotto & News and while they are a registered lotto player, officials from The Lott have been unable to contact them.
The person was one of five people to share in Saturday night’s division 1 prize, with each winning ticket taking home $1,165,537.35.
Burnside Lotto & News owner Thomas Wong said it was amazing to hear his outlet had sold a division one-winning entry.
“We can’t believe it was our outlet that sold a division one prize,” he exclaimed. “We had to read the notification email several times to believe it.
“We are super surprised and thrilled to have sold a division one-winning entry and helped create a millionaire in Burnside.
“We’ve been telling all of our customers about the win. We’ve decorated our store to let everyone who comes into the store this week know we’ve sold a winner.
“This is the first division one winning entry we’ve sold since taking over the outlet two years ago so we are thrilled.
“Before we took over, the outlet had sold four other division one winning entries, so our customers think we are a lucky store.”
The Lott spokesperson Bronwyn Spencer said the mystery Melbourne winner could be oblivious to the fact their winning entry was in their pocket, in their purse or stuck on the fridge.
“You may not think it’s possible you’re the division one winner we’re searching for, but if you purchased a registered entry in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw that you haven’t checked yet, you’re in with a chance,” she said.
“We’re urging all TattsLotto players to check their entries as soon as possible and if you discover you are holding the division one winning ticket to contact Tatts on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming your prize.”
