I grew up in Sunshine since I was six years old and still live in Sunshine West with my daughter. My father migrated from Malta as a young boy with his parents and 10 siblings. My parents have lived in Sunshine since 1984 till present day. My father worked in the company (ICI) known now as Orica, for 17 years.
What do you love about where you live?
The community spirit and community connection are filled with many diverse cultures which bring everyone together when their are events happening. We are lucky to have great restaurants as well as local cafes which are a perfect meeting spot to catch up with friends.
What have been some of the best changes you have seen occur?
There have been a lot of changes around my area and others which I have visited. Some of the best changes for me would be: Putting in some more greenery as not only is it better for the environment, but it just makes the area look better.
What are some of your favourite places to visit?
Some of my favourite places would be:
The local cafes which can be a great spot to socialise with friends and other people.
The Kororoit creek trail which benefits the well-being of myself and others, and just to see all the plants growing and getting planted.
How has it been to be involved with the Friends of Kororoit Creek group for the past seven years?
Being involved in the Friends of Kororoit Creek group and being able to get involved in the community to look after the environment while meeting new people has been great for my health and wellbeing. I have been involved for the past seven years as a volunteer which has been awesome.
