By Holly McGuinness

Keilor Park resident Natalie Moore chats to Holly McGuinness about her passion for health and wellness, along with her recent nomination in the Mumpreneur awards.

1) What’s your connection to Brimbank?

I grew up in Taylors Lakes from the age of four [now in Keilor Park] when the suburb was just beginning to develop and take shape. I have wonderful memories of visiting park areas, going to school and being part of a “family” oriented area with great friendships that I still have today.

2) What do you like about where you live?

The variety of options for cafes, running tracks, parks for the kids and sporting opportunities. There is a real community feel from one suburb to the next and I always feel a sense of being at “home” no matter where I am.

3) What, if anything, would you change about where you live?

As a business owner in the area, I welcome more opportunities to network with other business owners and community members collectively helping shape the health and vitality of individuals, businesses and communities.

4) Tell us something people would be surprised to know about you.

I’m an avid marathon runner and have shaped my career and life around the lessons I’ve developed through my running such as the power of our mind, the beauty of our breath and the power within us to pursue our greatest goals. My running was a catalyst to becoming a yoga and meditation teacher, a wellness and mindset coach and running my own wellness hub in the area with my business partner.

5) How are you helping women across Brimbank?

Through our business Own Your Health Co, my business partner, Lisa Saunders and I help guide women back to themselves during their Peri Menopause and Menopause transition. We work with women to develop a whole health lifestyle plan around their innate biology that affords them the opportunity to fully explore the advantages of this life phase and how this transcends into their lives, careers and health.

We also work with organisations to help create Menopause Friendly workplaces to help shift mindsets, develop positive and inclusive cultures and help break the “taboo” around the very natural phase of Menopause.

6) Tell us about the AusMumpreneur awards?

The awards celebrate and recognise Australian mums in business who achieve outstanding success. We are delighted to be recognised as a finalist for the Wellbeing and Wellness category which helps support our message and awareness of our important work.
