What’s your connection to Brimbank?

I’m a local photographer and keen member of the local gym. I’ve been an active member of the local sports clubs too.

What do you like best about the area?

We’ve been here for 10 years now. It’s central to everything we need. There’s good schools, we’re close to the city, local shops and footy clubs. The people are great too.

What could be improved?

I would’ve said the railway, but that’s just been fixed with the overpass. Traffic is still a little hectic in the morning, especially during the peak period and school drop-off.

You’ve recently won some photography awards?

I’ve taken out four awards at the Victorian Professional Photography Awards. I entered four in the newborn category and four in family. All received silver scores, which is between 80-85. I’ve had my images receive awards consistently for the past six years, so it’s been a thrill to be recognised.

And you won a national award too?

Yeah I entered some illustrative work in that one and one of them almost took gold, which was pretty exciting.

You’ve also moved into the fitness world?

Yeah, I entered a fitness competition through ICN fitness back in March. I entered six categories, largely in the fitness model class and placed in all six.

In June I decided to do an all-female competition and placed in all four classes in that too.

For me it’s for self development. It was a personal challenge for me after having four kids and I did it, so I can take that one off the bucket list.
