MY BRIMBANK

What’s your connection to Brimbank?

I’ve lived in the area for more than 20 years, attended local schools, and have been active within the community for almost a decade.

What do you like best about the area?

Going for walks down in Brimbank Park – it’s our gem in the area. The local sports facilities and availability … also the friendly attitudes of people when I’m out and about.

What are your favourite places to go eat in Brimbank?

Sung Huong (St Albans)

Marinelli’s (Kealba)

Keilor Pub (Keilor)

Why did you want to be on council?

The Brimbank Leadership Program encouraged me to become more active within my community.

I feel the youth of the community don’t have a voice, and I want to be that voice. I want Brimbank to be a model community for others, the best there is.

What do you hope to achieve in your term on council?

For people to have a strong sense of pride within their community, and to improve wellbeing through events, facilities and the arts.

I want Brimbank to be the economic hub of the west.

This means encouraging tourism in the area and helping our businesses.

You’re one of the youngest councillors elected, what sort of an impact does your age have on your role at council?

I believe it’s a great benefit to the community in that it gives a unique perspective on a range of issues. The future is rapidly changing, and I believe we need greater diversity in the way people are represented.

As mentioned, being a voice for the youth is one of those ways.

What would people be surprised to know about you?

I’ve travelled extensively around Australia and have been playing inline hockey at a state level.
