The Lions Club of Taylors Lakes invites the community to its upcoming covid recovery event, Music and Picnic in the Park on Sunday April 10 at the Taylors Lakes Linear Park.

It’s the second iteration of the free of entry event following last year’s which attracted over 1000 people.

The day will feature a wide range of live music catering for many music tastes including acoustic, band, original metal, jazz, pop and rock from a range of artists.

Some of the artists featured include The McAvaney’s, Redline and Cinco Savage who will perform across the afternoon along with many other local and recognised acts.

As part of the event, a variety of food vans will be on site including the famous Lions sausage sizzle and 20 market stalls with craft, produce, plants and other goods.

A kids entertainment area will also be at the event with a range of activities on offer including shows, balloons, twisting, face painting, a clown and more.

The event supported as part of the Brimbank council covid recovery grants will begin at 10am and run until 4pm.

Lions Club of Taylors Lakes secretary Phil Clinkaberry was excited about the day.

“It’s going to be a fantastic day no doubt,” he said.

“Lots of fun with heaps of things for the kids to do.

“It’s a family event very much so and the music will be great.”

Clinkaberry said it will also be a great opportunity to support some businesses that have been challenged during the pandemic.

“The idea of bringing the market stalls in this year was to add an extra attraction but also to give an opportunity for some of these people with market stalls that have been dreadfully held back from covid.

“Some of them have clearly just gone out of business because they couldn’t do anything for a couple of years.”
