Murder charge over St Albans death

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a 49-year-old man with murder following the death of a woman in St Albans earlier this month.

Phuc Thien Tang was arrested on Wednesday morning and appeared before an out-of-sessions hearing at Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday night, charged with the murder of 44-year-old Hoa Thi Huynh.

Ms Huynh’s body was found inside an unoccupied View Street house in St Albans on September 10.

Detective Leading Senior Constable Rob Blezard told the court that Ms Huynh had died three days earlier after allegedly being struck to the head with an object.
