MP angry at Tigers’ support for Adam Goodes

Bernie Finn

Member for Western Metropolitan Bernie Finn has slammed the Richmond Football Club for taking a stand against the booing of Sydney Swans star Adam Goodes, saying it should “stay out of politics”.

The club announced yesterday it would play tonight’s match against Hawthorn in their Dreamtime guernsey to support the dual Brownlow medallist who will not play against Adelaide this weekend and has taken “indefinite leave”.

However Mr Finn took to social media last night on the Richmond Tigers Supporters Group facebook page he was going to contact the club to voice his anger.

“The Goodes saga has nothing to do with Richmond,” he said.

“I’ll be contacting the Club tomorrow to tell them how unimpressed I am we’ve fallen victim to political correctness!”

When asked to clarify his comments Mr Finn said: “I don’t really have any. Just think my club should stay out of politics”.
