The movers and shakers of Brimbank’s arts community are uniting.

Movement Makers is a youth-led arts forum for young people, students, artists, educators and community workers.

The free event will incorporate poetry and dance workshops, presentations from youth groups around the west, performances and a discussion panel.

Cohealth Arts Generator creative producer Dennis Pennalligen said the all-day event – in its third year – was open for all young people in Brimbank to attend.

“It’s a great space for young people to meet and talk,” Mr Pennalligen said.

“But one of the best reasons for people to come is to get an idea about what free services are available to them especially in relation to arts.”

Highlights of the day will include Rudy V providing music, a collaborative postboard and a “speed-dating” event for youth service providers to interact with young people. A PushStart talent quest will follow at 4.30pm.

The Movement Makers is an initiative of cohealth and is produced in partnership with Brimbank council, The Bowery Theatre and Wyndham council.

It will be held at the St Albans Community Centre at 309c Main Road East, St Albans on July 15 from 11am to 4pm.
