Movelle Primary School pupils are preparing for their annual Anzac Day service.
Grade 5 and 6 pupils will run the service, dedicated to the memory of Australians who have served and died in war, in the St Albans school’s Anzac remembrance garden.
The garden, purpose-built almost three years ago, has a wall mural, a patch of poppies, rosemary bushes and a flag pole.
School support staffer Deb Nikolic says Anzac Day is a special day on the school calendar.
“Our students conduct the service with the utmost respect and other year levels sing beautiful songs to complement it,” she said. “It’s a very moving service.”
This year the school has enlisted a piper to play as part of the service. Family, friends and nearby residents are invited to attend.
The service will be held at Movelle Primary School, Gum Road, St Albans, Monday, April 24, from 10am.
If the weather is bad, the service will be held in the school’s gymnasium.
