Motorists nabbed during Operation Compass

More than 100 offences were detected on Brimbank’s roads during a road safety blitz over the Easter long weekend.

Operation Compass was launched on April 14, with police flooding the state’s roads to promote safe driving during the busy Easter period.

Police data, provided to Star Weekly, reveals 26 speeding motorists came to the attention of police on Brimbank roads, while five drink drivers and four drug drivers were detected.

Twelve disqualified drivers and 11 unlicensed drivers also came to the attention of police during the operation.

Police also detected six driver disobeying signals or signs, eight seatbelt offences, 11 people using their mobile phone while driving and 15 unregistered vehicles.

Ten vehicles were impounded.
