More than 50,000 still to vote in Brimbank council elections

More than 50,000 Brimbank residents have yet to officially vote with less than four hours left until the voting deadline.
As of 1:03 pm today, 83,631 municipal election ballots have been returned, leaving 50,980 ballots, or 37.87 percent, yet to come in.
A Victorian Electoral Commission spokesman expected the number of outstanding ballots to reduce “significantly” in coming days.
Voters must complete their ballot material in the mail or hand-deliver it to the local election office at 12, Hertford Road, Sunshine by 6 pm today.
The VEC has until midday on Friday, October 28 to receive and admit mailed ballots.
