The state government is providing support for multicultural communities, such as those in Brimbank, by building and improving dedicated community facilities.

The government announced a new round of the Multicultural Community Infrastructure Fund, which will allow organisations to apply for grants of up to $500,000 to carry out works to improve their community facilities.

The program also increases the safety and accessibility of infrastructure, enabling local multicultural communities to deliver essential services that promote diversity, social cohesion and connection.

Two streams of funding are available for projects that are to be completed by October 31 2023. Rural, regional and

new and emerging communities’ applications will be prioritised.

Applications are open now and will close on July 18.

Victorian Multicultural Affairs minister Ros Spence said the government was continuing to support communities by providing funding for organisations to upgrade, renovate and build community facilities.

“These facilities are important for multicultural communities to continue delivering essential services that promote

diversity, social cohesion and connection.”
