More than 300 art works will adorn the walls at Monmia Primary School later this month.
The Keilor Downs school is hosting its annual art show on May 22 and pupils have been busily creating their masterpieces.
Dominica Farrugia, in grade 2, has produced an eye-catching painting of two koi fish swimming in a pond using watercolours and oil pastels.
Her painting will form a larger installation of artwork created by the grade 1s and grade 2s of a giant pond teeming with fish.
“We learnt about koi fish in Japanese and art classes,” Miss Farrugia says. “I like how they are swimming around the plants.”
Visual arts teacher Tonia Burridge said the exhibition is wonderful opportunity to celebrate the pupils’ artistic achievements.
“It is also an opportunity for prospective students and their families to visit the school as we highlight our visual arts program,” she says.
