McIntyre Road in Sunshine North is expected to be closed for several hours following a crash earlier this morning.
Peak hour traffic was thrown into chaos after a car crashed into a power pole about 4.30am.
Police expected the road to remain closed between Phoenix and Sussex streets for several hours as power lines are repaired.
Emergency services confirmed the female driver was taken to Footscray Hospital for observation and is in a stable condition.
