Massive jump in Brimbank vaccine rate

The number of people over the age of 15 in Brimbank who are fully vaccinated jumped by 10 per cent in the last week.

New COVID-19 vaccine figures released by the federal government on Monday shows that 68.4 per cent of the population of the age of 15 in Brimbank have received both doses of the vaccine.

That is up from 58.6 per cent on the previous week.

While the figure is still one of the lowest in the state, Brimbank has bridged the gap between them and other municipalities.

As of Monday, 89 per cent of Brimbank residents over the age of 15 had received at least one dose of the vaccine.

In neighbouring Melton, more than 95 per cent of residents over the age of 15 have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 72.4 per cent in that age bracket are fully vaccinated.
