A man with a bullet wound has been found in the front yard of a house in St Albans.

Police were called to a Conrad Street property about 5.45am today, where they found a 20-year-old victim with a bullet wound to his stomach.

Paramedics took the man to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He is believed to be in a stable condition.

Police are yet to interview the victim and are unsure of the circumstances of the incident.

Nine News reports the man may have been shot in another location and dumped at the St Albans address.

Neighbours in Conrad Street said they were shaken after waking to the police presence.

“It’s really odd for us to have it and really scary, especially when there are two primary schools nearby and everyone walks here every morning, especially the kids,” one resident told Nine News.
