A man has died and a child taken to hospital following a crash in Deanside, near Melton, on Tuesday night.
Emergency services were called to Sinclairs Road about 9.25pm following reports a vehicle had crashed into a power pole and caught fire.
The driver, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
A child passenger of the vehicle was taken to hospital with unknown injuries.
Circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined and police are keen to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of the scene at the time of the crash.
