A man has been charged with trafficking a drug of dependence following a raid on a Sunshine North house.
Brimbank crime investigation unit detectives arrested a Sunshine North man, 61, and a Sunshine North woman, 29, after raiding a tenanted house in Lurg Avenue early last Thursday.
The 61-year-old has been remanded in custody to reappear at the Sunshine Magistrates Court on June 1, while the 29-year-old woman was interviewed in relation to possessing a drug of dependence and released pending summons.
Police found substances believed to be methamphetamine and cocaine at the house, which is in the same street as Albion North primary school.
Detective Acting Sergeant Anna Kirishian said the police raid followed a two-month investigation into alleged activities at the share house. She said each resident had a number of outstanding Sheriff’s warrants, including one who had 123 warrants worth about $50,000 in total.
Detective Acting Sergeant Kirishian said police would continue to work with the community to remove drugs from Brimbank streets. “We want our community to feel safe and know that police won’t tolerate drug trafficking or drug use,” she said.
