Fun is the order of the day at Mackellar Primary School in Delahey.
As the school goes through another round of home learning, teachers are trying to make all learning fun.
School community engagement leader Brenda Elliott said the number one priority right now was looking after the welfare of pupils.
“We’re really proud of them and how they are staying engaged,” she said.
“They really are amazing kids, but this lockdown has been a little bit different. It has hit harder than others.
“We’re making sure to connect with the students each day and we’re checking in on their welfare.”
Among the activities the school has done are crazy hair days and dress ups, and last week ,they went on an online school incursion.
The specialist teachers have also been busy.
In food technology, the pupils have been investigating foods and encouraged to try different flavours.
Physical education has seen the children encouraged to be active.
“In PE they are doing a daily tracker. It gets them up and about, active and engaged,” Ms Elliott said.
“They need things that are interactive and fun.”
