A Taylor Lakes man is more than $250,000 richer, after winning an Instant Scratch-Its earlier this week.
The man has had his heart set on building his dream home which is now one step closer to becoming a reality after scoring a $260,000 win.
The lucky winner said he got the scratch-its ticket for his birthday.
“I actually got this Instant Scratch-Its ticket as a birthday present,” he explained.
“My daughter was asking me what I wanted for my birthday, and I said to her, ‘I want the chance to win enough money so I can build my dream home’.
“So, instead of buying me shirts and jocks, she bought me a few Instant Scratch-Its and lottery tickets.
“On my birthday, my daughter sat on the end of my bed and gave me the tickets, and I scratched this one first.
“We couldn’t believe it when we saw I’d won the top prize. We just kept screaming, ‘We’ve won! We’ve won!’.
“It feels like it was meant to be. I won the exact amount I needed to build my dream home. I just needed an extra boost of $260,000 and that’s what I got.
The win will be paid in instalments of $1,000 a week for 5 years.
