Residents surrounding the Akzo Nobel factory in Sunshine North reported smells from the site on Tuesday as they took their frustrations to social media to be heard.
Locals have been reporting smells from the paint factory since 2019, yet the issue is still alive today.
Kellie Emma posted on Facebook saying weather changes were a common cause of the smell appearing from the paint manufacturer.
“Smells always seem to be more intense as the weather changes,” Ms Emma said.
She also said the smell wasn’t fair on local residents.
“This issue should have been resolved in November but residents are still smelling this terrible odour,” Emma said.
“It’s just not good enough, I want to open up my house to cool it down after the cool change, however I’m instead having to shut all my windows.
“We all have a right to clean air but profits seem to come before basic human rights.”
She also mentioned that members of the Stop AkzoNobel Pollution Action Group were reporting smells from the factory that day.
