A large building at the Sunshine College Ardeer campus was on fire on Saturday, May 28 which crews took 34 minutes to bring under control.
Fire Rescue Victoria said the disused college building was “well involved” in fire.
Crew worked hard to bring the fire under control at 8.07pm as access to college grounds and suitable water pressure made fire fighting operations difficult.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
As previously reported by Star Weekly, the Department of Education and Training released details of plans to demolish buildings on the site in September last year due to vandalism.
Brimbank residents had previously called for the site to be repurposed for community use.
The two sites have been vacated since 2020 after the merged four campuses to two.
