Lantern parade to headline festival

Vietnamese moon lantern parades will bring vistas of light and colour to St Albans and Sunshine.

Sunshine’s lantern parade will be held on Sunday, October 22, on Harvester Road, running from 10am-9pm.

The St Albans lantern parade will be one of the headline events of the St Albans Festival for Families.

The parade will run from 6pm on Saturday, October 14, with festival-goers gathering at Victoria Square with their lanterns at the ready.

The parade is just one part of the festival, which also includes, puppets, pop-up activities and culinary delights.

The festival will also include a performance by St Albans East Primary School pupils, who will use shadow puppets and martial arts to portray the real-life story of the Vietnamese heroines the Trung Sisters.

The performance will take place at The Bowery from 6pm on Thursday, October 19.
