Labor promises to build Croatian centre in Sunshine North

A Croatian community centre will be built in Sunshine North if Labor is re-elected on November 26.

Labor candidate for Kororoit Luba Grigorovitch and St Albans MP Natalie Suleyman announced $750,000 for the centre on Saturday, November 12 as part of a $50 million investment to build, upgrade and renovate

new community infrastructure for multicultural and multifaith communities.

“Our multicultural community groups are important tapestry in our community offering vital connections to culture, language and heritage,” Ms Suleyman said.

“This is a significant project and I’m looking forward to seeing works begin.

“This investment reinforces our commitment to support a strong and vibrant multicultural and multifaith Victoria.”

Ms Grigorovitch said: “This is an important step to making sure multicultural communities maintain connections to their culture and heritage.

“Rhis will ensure community upgrades large and small can be delivered in every corner of our state, supporting Croatian Victorians, wherever they live.”

Premier Daniel Andrews said every community deserved great spaces to come together.

“Our Croatian community is no different and this investment will make sure Croatian Victorians remain strong and connected,” he said.
