Labor funding pledge for Brimbank schools

By Tate Papworth

Labor candidate for Fraser Daniel Mulino says Brimbank’s public schools will receive $28.61 million if the ALP wins the election.

The money is part of the opposition’s $14 billion spending boost for public schools, which was announced late last year.

Mr Mulino toured Brimbank schools last week to discuss how funding would be divided.

He said no Brimbank public school will miss out. “I have been speaking with principals, teachers and parents … to ensure that we are providing support where it is needed most,” he said.

“We’ll be supporting our teachers and principals to deliver outstanding educational experiences for our kids and giving schools the resources they need to help students thrive.”

He said the funds will transform public schools across Brimbank and give all children the opportunity to reach their full potential.

“This is a real win for the Fraser communities and schools in areas like Sunshine, Braybrook, St Albans, Sydenham and Keilor,” he said.

A new website – www.fairgoforschools.com.au – will give each school an estimate of the extra funding it can expect.
