Kings Park residents will all fall under the one electorate following changes in the final electoral boundary review.
The Electoral Boundaries Commission released its final state electorate boundaries on Thursday, with a few minor changes from the proposed boundaries which were released in June.
In Melbonre’s west, the only change from the proposed boundary and the final boundary involved Kings Park.
All residents will fall under the Kororoit electorate. The change resulted in small consequential changes to St Albans, Laverton and Melton districts.
The new boundaries means there are two two new seats in Melbourne’s west, Laverton and Point Cook.
The new seat of Laverton contains predominantly Brimbank and Wyndham suburbs, with residents coming from five existing electorates.
Ardeer, Albion, Sunshine, Derrimut, Brooklyn and parts of Sunshine North, Deer Park, Cairnlea, St Albans and Braybrook are part of the proposed new electorate.
A key factor in the new boundary was the industrial areas across those suburbs.
The Kororoit district lost a number of voters, with the seat being significantly above the average number of voters per seat.
Nearly 9000 residents from the existing Kororoit electorate are set to transfer into the St Albans district.
Derrimut residents will move into the new Laverton seat and Sydenham West residents would move into the Sydenham district.
The Sydenham district is another district that has a significant enrollment above the average.
Nearly 3000 electors in Taylors Lakes to Niddrie district.
All Brimbank residents that were in the seat of Footscray will move to new electorates.
