Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) firefighters arrived to find a single storey brick veneer home totally involved in fire.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus attacked the fire with an aggressive external attack to bring the blaze under control and stop it spreading to neighbouring homes under threat.
The house has been extensively damaged in the fire but firefighters were able to contain the fire to the one house.
One occupant was able to evacuate the blaze.
He was treated by Ambulance Victoria and transported to hospital for observation.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
