Kinder-ready reminder

Parents of children attending kindergarten in 2021 are being reminded to ensure their contact details are up-to-date with the Brimbank council by May 31.

The council manages a Kindergarten Central Registration Service for all funded kindergarten programs in Brimbank.

Brimbank mayor Georgina Papafotiou, said offers for kindergarten places will be sent out to families in July.

“We know that attending kindergarten is a crucial part of every child’s play, development and learning. Enrolling your child in kinder is important to ensuring they get a great start in life before they reach school,” Cr Papafotiou said.

“If your child is turning four before 30 April this year, they are eligible to attend kinder in 2021.

“If your contact details have changed in the past few years – for example if you’ve moved house – council needs to know so we can ensure your child is offered a kindergarten place.”

Children in Brimbank are registered for kindergarten during an early visit with their maternal and child health nurse soon after they’re born.

To be able to allocate children for a kindergarten placement the council needs up-to-date contact details, including email and mailing address.
