Kings Park Primary pupils painted their palettes blue and gray and sketched the trees and the daffodils as part of the school’s “Glow with Van Gogh” art exhibition.
The exhibition, running all this week, has 450 pieces of art on display – one piece for every pupil at the school.
Art teacher Sandra Bahamondes said the exhibition was a way to engage parents and pupils following two years of pandemic restrictions.
“It’s really an opportunity to try and get the parents involved and do something special for the kids,” Ms Bahamondes said.
She said the school took their inspiration from the Vincent Van Gogh exhibition, at the digital gallery, the LUME, at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The Kings Park Primary exhibition includes paintings and sculptures that glow in the dark and reflect the Dutch post- Impressionist painter, Vincent Van Gogh’s, famous paintings like his self-portrait, “Starry Night” and ”Sunflowers”.
The free exhibition is at the school, 128B Gillespie Rd, Kings Park, from today Monday 29 August until Friday 2 September. For details contact the school on 9367 6555.
