Keilor Downs Secondary pop-up COVID-19 vaccine clinic

Keilor Downs Secondary College will become a pop-up COVID-19 vaccine clinic this weekend, as 30 per cent of the new locally acquired COVID-19 cases were in Melbourne’s west.

Acting chief health officer Ben Cowie confirmed that of the 1638 cases recorded in the past 24 hours, 485 were within the western suburbs.

Professor Cowie said vaccination was a “fundamental protection” against the virus, and that Keilor Downs Secondary was one of four pop-up clinics in areas of concern being launched over the weekend.

“These school pop ups are open to anyone in the area… this weekend,” Professor Cowie said.

“They are both providing Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines.

“It’s a great opportunity for locals in those neighbourhood areas, in those local areas, to join the millions of Victorians who have already been vaccinated.”

Residents aged 12 years and over can walk up for their vaccination, no booking required, at the site on Odessa Avenue on Saturday, October 9, and Sunday, October 10, between 10am and 6pm.
