Kangaroo trapped at Caroline Springs school

A distressed kangaroo is trapped in the playground of a Caroline Springs primary school.

Wildlife Victoria’s emergency response team leader James Johnson said volunteers were on their way to St George Preca Primary School to remove the roo.

The kangaroo’s arrival on school grounds comes just a week after a fox paid a visit during school hours.

Mr Johnson said it was not uncommon for volunteers to be called out to Caroline Springs to remove kangaroos lost in suburbia.

“It’s certainly not unheard of but is less common than South Morang and Epping,” he said.

The school on Lancefield Drive is at the northern end of Caroline Springs.

The school was unable to comment further.
