Member for Koroit Marlene Kairouz was promoted to the state government frontbench today.
Ms Kairouz, a former cabinet secretary, said in a statement it was an honour to join cabinet as the new Minister for Consumer Affairs, Gaming and Liquor Regulation.
Brimbank has been the state’s biggest loser on poker machines for almost a decade.
The ministry position was formerly held by Jane Garrett who quit on June 10 after refusing to back a pay deal for the CFA’s paid firefighters.
