Experts will soon be teaching youngsters how to safely ride their scooters.
YMCA Skate Services will host a scooter safety clinic, for children aged under six, to help them stay safe at their local skate parks.
Melton council chief executive Kel Tori said that while riding a scooter was a fun and much-loved pastime for children, it was an activity that could be dangerous for young and inexperienced riders.
“Council wants to make sure that even our youngest residents stay safe while they’re enjoying our skate parks and open spaces,” Mr Tori said.
“So we’re encouraging scooting enthusiasts to come along to this scooter clinic, where they can develop the skills they need to protect them from serious injury.”
The clinic will run from 10.30am on Thursday, October 27, at Taylors Hill Neighbourhood House, 121 Calder Park Drive.
