IN FOCUS: Shed crew thrives on happy clients

When David Lloyd arrived in Australia more than 38 years ago, he brought with him experience in the building and shed construction industries.

He and his wife, Yvonne, didn’t take long to set up in business, manufacturing sheds.

“We started making them in a rented section of a factory,” David says.

“We had no space to display our different shed designs in those early days, so we took the sheds on the road. Every day we assembled and disassembled – hard work, early days and late nights.

“But it paid off. Our customers loved our product and its quality, and word began to spread. We had the setbacks and challenges many small family businesses face, but we kept going – and now we’re about to open our fourth store.”

Company Manager Owen, David’s son, takes up the story.

“From the start, dad was passionate about quality and knew he could offer a superior product,” Owen says.

“He fought to get his products out into the marketplace – possibly with the same determination he showed as a child with polio.

“He’s the same today. We all are. Our whole team works hard to deliver on what we promise – a top-quality, well-designed product, and an honest, reliable and timely service.

“We keep costs down because we cut out the middleman. Ours is a full-service outfit – we design, supply, assemble and organise permits. And we deliver the finished shed in three to four weeks – bigger designs are variable.”

In-house Designers and Engineers create sheds of every size, from small garden sheds to small warehouses.

American barns, garages and carports are available, as are timber and industrial sheds, aviaries, chook houses and cubbies.

“Our Stores and Head Office are vibrant places,” Owen says.

“We’re close-knit and celebrate wins and find solutions to problems together.”

“We all value seeing happy customers and everyone’s willing to lend them a hand – the same as we do for each other.

“We also keep a focus on evolving, staying on track with the latest technology and keeping our reputation for customer satisfaction strong.”

David has the final word: “We look forward to seeing where the next generation takes our business as it expands to regional Victoria and interstate.”
