Prep and grade one pupils at Albion North Primary School have had their say on some of the important things in life.
As part of their online learning during the sixth lockdown, the pupils had to do complete persuasive writing tasks.
Teacher Lee-Anne Veteha said they started the task with writing signs before getting pupils to write letters.
“Students participated in Google Classroom writing lessons where they were encouraged to identify the problems in their lives that they wanted to solve,” she said.
“Students wrote persuasive letters to the school’s leadership team, their classroom teacher, the school’s canteen manager and to their parents requesting change.
“The students had the opportunity to share their letters online. Some of the letters asked for less homework, more playtime at the park and an extended recess.”
Ms Veteha said the school canteen manager agreed to make two changes to the menu, adding spaghetti and fish fingers, following the letters.
“The students couldn’t believe what they had wanted had been chosen to be on the menu,” she said.
