Police have charged two people after seizing illicit tobacco and cash during a warrant in Deer Park.
Police attended a residential property on Robinsons Road on December 29 to execute a warrant on an unrelated matter.
During a search of the address, they located almost $400,000 cash, over five kilograms of illicit tobacco, tobacco packaging and a conducted energy device.
A 35-year-old Deer Park man was arrested on January 13 and subsequently charged with deal property suspected proceeds of crime and possess prohibited weapon.
He has also been charged with the Commonwealth offence of possess tobacco products with the intent of defrauding the revenue.
A 34-year-old Deer Park woman was arrested on Friday and charged with deal property suspected proceeds of crime and the Commonwealth offence of possess tobacco products with the intent of defrauding the revenue.
The pair have been bailed to appear at Sunshine Magistrates’ Court on August 24.
The investigation remains ongoing.
