House fire in Braybrook

Firefighters attended a house fire in Braybrook in the early hours of this morning.

Several nearby residents phoned triple-0 after seeing flames at what appeared to be an unoccupied house.

Once on the scene, crews were confronted with a single storey home totally involved in fire.

The fire was declared under control at 2.34am.

While the house was reported to be unoccupied an internal search was carried out and at this stage no persons have been located.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, with a Fire Rescue Victoria appliance maintaining a presence overnight to wet down any hotspots.
