The latest medical equipment will be rolled out in 38 health services across Victoria, to ensure patients receive the most modern treatments.
The state government’s Medical Equipment Replacement Program will provide hospitals with new equipment for acute services, including CT scanners, MRIs, X-Ray units and digital retinal imaging capture systems as well as heart equipment such as echocardiogram and fluoroscopy units.
In addition to this, as part of the Engineering Infrastructure Replacement Program, hospitals will upgrade infrastructure including generators, chillers, emergency lighting, nurse call systems, air conditioning systems and patient lifts.
Hospitals on the list to receive the upgrades include Sunshine Hospital, Northern Health and Werribee Mercy hospital.
Victorian premier Daniel Andrews said the state government was supporting healthcare workers with the very best hospitals, theatres, surgical tools and diagnostic equipment available.
“It’s all part of our plan to help hospitals meet the record demand they’re facing and deliver world-class care sooner, and closer to home, for every Victorian.”
