A Hillside man believed to be the ex-husband of Teresa Mancuso, allegedly stabbed to death almost two years ago in Melbourne’s north, has been arrested in Sydenham and charged with her murder.

Homicide Squad detectives have arrested a man at an address in Taylors Road, Sydenham, at 10.45am on Tuesday and charged him with murder.

It is understood the man arrested and charged is Fernando Paulino, the former husband of Teresa Paulino, also known as Teresa Mancuso.

The 53-year-old was expected to face an out-of-sessions court hearing on Tuesday afternoon.

Ms Mancuso was a mother to two boys, Daniel and Luke, who are both in their 20s.

The body of the 49-year-old was found at the back of a Massey Avenue house in Reservoir in 2013 at 9.45pm on Monday, July 15 by a family member.

Ms Mancuso was a prominent member of the Italian neighbourhood in Massey Avenue, where she lived with her mother.

The arrest also came just a week after what would have been Ms Mancuso’s 51st birthday.
