A high tea to honour a fallen friend will be held at Cairnlea later this month. It will also raise money for the Pancare Foundation, which supports research into pancreatic, liver and stomach cancers.
Janev Aziz (pictured), who has been a fundraising champion in Brimbank over the years – she raised more than $15,000 at one event in 2014 – lost close friend Hulya Peker to pancreatic cancer in October.
The high tea will be held on what would have been her 50th birthday, February 28.
“She was a special lady,” she said. “The survival rate is only six per cent. Too many people find out too late.”
