Help guide crossing work

The state government is looking for community members to join a Stakeholder Liaison Group (SLG) to help guide the level crossing removal project at Mt Derrimut Road.

The level crossing will be removed and a new rail bridge constructed over the road to complement a new Deer Park Station and bus interchange.

Major construction will begin mid this year.

The SLG will provide local perspectives and insights throughout the construction phase of the project.

While it has no formal decision-making power, the purpose of the SLG is to ensure that local communities are informed on issues that may impact them during construction.

The SLG will assist by working collaboratively with the project team to inform their networks and local community about construction related project information and provide a local perspective on the management of unavoidable construction impacts.

The SLG will consist of volunteer community members who represent the views and interests of residents, business owners and community organisations.

The group will focus on matters relating to project construction. SLG meetings will not be a forum to discuss designs.

The SLG is expected to participate in regular group meetings, approximately every 6 to 8 weeks.
