Healthcare workers appreciated

A Tullamarine company is giving away a Tiny Home worth $25,000 to a worthy Victorian frontline healthcare worker.

NJ Tiny Homes owner Nick Todd decided that he wanted to give something back in appreciation of the hard work done through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr Todd said he wanted to give away a complimentary Tiny Home to a healthcare worker who was doing the hard yards working on the frontline in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We just need to look after these frontline workers,” he said. “I couldn’t have a job like that and I take my hat off to them.

“We can build it in their backyard and then they’ve got something like a little outdoor pod to do their work in or an outdoor retreat to relax.”

The popularity for ‘miniature’ homes has surged over recent months in Victoria.

The Tiny Homes come in various forms including granny flats, container homes and trailer homes, but they resemble miniature houses – fully equipped with bathrooms, showers, kitchens and bedrooms.

Mr Todd said since he started his Tiny Homes business 18 months ago, there has been a rising trend in Victorians locked out of the housing market purchasing the smaller homes for a fraction of the price of standard builds.

The properties can be ready in just five to eight weeks depending on the size and style,

“It’s like a standard house, but in a smaller version,” he said.

“It looks like a normal home.”

To be in the chance to win the tiny house, you need to tell NJ Tiny Homes in 250 words or less why you deserve a brand new Tiny Home.
