The State government Land Standing Advisory Committee has given residents of Cairnlea and interested stakeholders the opportunity to enter submissions on a proposed plan to rezone a Cairnlea site into a Comprehensive Development Zone.
The proposed plan would see major changes to Cairnlea, including affordable housing, aesthetic features, trees and land use on the site.
The proposed site for development was previously used as the Albion Explosives Factory that operated from the early 1940s until the 1980s.
Members of the community can join local community groups including the Cairnlea Community Group, Grasslands Ward and Brimbank Residents and Ratepayers Association to find out more about the plan.
