Brimbank residents are being encouraged to share their views on the Melbourne Airport Rail route.
With the route of the new link confirmed late last year, Rail Projects Victoria is progressing with the next stage of community engagement online, in line with coronavirus health and safety guidelines.
The new line will see trains travel every 10 minutes between a new station at Melbourne Airport and the heart of Melbourne’s CBD in under 30 minutes via Sunshine and the new Metro Tunnel.
Melbourne’s west will have direct airport access via a single interchange at Sunshine station, or Footscray station for Werribee and Williamstown line passengers.
In this round of online engagement you can take an interactive tour of a virtual information session, complete an online survey and there’s the ability to add comments to a map of the project route.
Construction on the rail link will begin next year, with a target completion date of 2029.
Brimbank council has said it would work with the community and all tiers of government to ensure that the benefits of the new Sunshine super hub, which will be the centrepiece of the rail link.
Community engagement is open until February. For more information, go to airportrail.vic.gov.au/home
