Locals can share their thoughts on the draft Brimbank Community Grants Policy 2025.
The policy outlines how Brimbank council will run the Brimbank Community Grants Program, which provides financial support to eligible not-for-profit organisations, community groups and individuals.
Brimbank mayor Virginia Tachos said the policy will guide how council governs, manages and evaluates the Brimbank Community Grants Program over the next four years.
“It sets out the principles behind our decision-making and aligns with our ‘We are Brimbank’ Integrated Community Vision 2050, council Plan and Health and Wellbeing Plan 2025-2029,” Cr Tachos said.
According to council, the updated draft policy features a strengthened set of guiding principles including equity and inclusion, community benefit, good governance, responsiveness, compliance, capacity building and collaboration, respect and safety of staff.
“The draft strongly reflects the key pillars of People, Place and Prosperity in the ‘We Are Brimbank’ Plan while continuing to meet council’s legal and ethical obligations,” Cr Tachos said.
“We’re now seeking local feedback to help make the program fair, inclusive, easy to access and transparent – and to ensure it delivers real benefits for the Brimbank community.”
Community members can provide feedback on the draft Community Grants Policy until 16 January 2026 at yoursay.brimbank.vic.gov.au
All feedback will be considered for the final policy, which will be presented to council for adoption at a future council meeting.
