Have a say on Caroline Springs bus upgrades

Caroline Springs residents are being asked to have their say on a proposed bus network upgrade.

The new network is expected to extend coverage to residential and industrial areas, with increased services to Watergardens Shopping Centre, Sunshine, Caroline Springs town centre and Highpoint shopping centre.

And for the first time, buses will be travelling to the new Caroline Springs station, which is expected to open early next year.

Kororoit MP Marlene Kairouz said the upgrades would provide more public transport options for residents in a fast-growing area.

“It’s important we get this upgrade right, which is why we’re encouraging locals to go online or drop into a session to have their say,” Ms Kairouz said.

“The new and improved network will connect with the new Caroline Springs station, boost access for residents in growing areas, and make it easier for people to … get on the train.”

Public Transport Victoria will be holding community consultation sessions at the Caroline Springs library from 11am-1pm and 4-7pm on Tuesday, October 18; at Watergardens Shopping Centre from 11am-1pm Friday, October 21; at the Springside Children’s and Community Centre from 4-7pm Monday, October 24; at Visy Cares Hub from 2-5pm Tuesday, October 25; at the Hunt Club Community Arts Centre from 11am-1pm and 4-7pm Thursday, October 27; and the Caroline Springs Shopping Centre from 11am-1pm Saturday, October 29.
