Brimbank’s annual hard rubbish collection begins next week.
This year’s hard waste collection will start on Monday, July 2 and run for six weeks, finishing on Friday, August 10.
Brimbank mayor Margaret Giudice said the annual collection costs the council more than $1.3 million.
“Hard waste will be collected from different residential areas of Brimbank on different weeks throughout the collection period,” she said.
“About two weeks before the collection in their area, residents will receive a brochure in their letterbox to advise the specific collection week that applies to them and details about the service.
“You can also easily find your hard waste collection dates by inputting your address in the ‘hard waste collection date finder’ on our council website.”
Hard waste should be placed on nature strips by 6am on the Monday
of each area’s designated collection week.
Residents are advised to not put out hard waste earlier than the weekend before their scheduled collection.
The council has also asked residents to be mindful of safety and to keep streets as tidy as possible while the hard waste collection is under way.
Brimbank residents can book a user pays hard waste collection service at any time of the year directly through
WM Waste Management Services on 9721 1915.
