More than half a million dollars in community grants is about to be made available as part of this year’s Brimbank Grants Program.
The annual program supports not-for-profit organisations and community groups to deliver projects and events across Brimbank.
Brimbank mayor Margaret Giudice said the program aimed to support activities to make the community stronger.
“We’ve been fortunate to be able to support many innovative, positive and engaging projects, programs and events over the years through our grants program,” Cr Giudice said.
“This year, we have $560,000 available to successful applicants under three grants programs which align with our Community Plan, Council Plan objectives and emerging community priorities.
“We’ve also integrated our annual Seniors Operational Grants and Festivals and Events Grants grant streams into the program to ensure the community knows about all of the grants council has available.”
There are eight categories, including community strengthening grants (up to $10,000), sport and recreation grants (up to $5000), and community festivals and events (up to $10,000).
Applications close on July 15.
