Grants open

Not-for-profit groups operating in Caroline Springs, Burnside and Burnside Heights areas are invited to apply for grants of $1,500 to support their local community project.

The Modeina Community Fund grant program, which is in its fifth year, is an initiative of Dennis Family Corporation (DFC), the developer of Modeina estate, located in Burnside, to help with a host of community initiatives.

Dennis Family Group director Grant Dennis said the fund had assisted a broad cross-section of the Caroline Springs, Burnside and Burnside Heights communities to help make many programs and projects possible.

“We are proud to continue to support local communities by providing financial assistance in areas where we operate our business,” he said.

“Our community fund presentation nights have become an annual highlight for us and the many not-for-profit groups that we assist.

“This year we look forward to adding even more community groups from around the Modeina estate area, to our long list of deserving community fund recipients.”

Among the recipients of the grants last year included the Westside Strikers Soccer Club, Western (VIC) Tamil Seniors Club, Victoria Tamil Association, Rotary Caroline Springs, Family Care Fellowship Incorporated, Caroline Springs Scout Group, Burnside Springs United Cricket Club, Burnside Kindergarten, Burnside Heights Football Club and Brookside P-9 College.

To be considered for a grant, not-for-profit community groups must operate within the Caroline Springs, Burnside and Burnside Heights area and meet the eligibility criteria.

Successful recipients will be notified in October.
